Kate Kirschner (LMSW) is a psychotherapist with a passion for supporting individuals and families as they navigate the journey through parenthood. Having graduated from New York University’s Silver School of Social Work with a focus on maternal mental health and parent support, Kate takes an integrative approach to working with individuals and families as they transition to parenthood, weathering pregnancy and pregnancy loss, birth complications, and postpartum depression and anxiety. She also works with women across the lifespan, providing space for those seeking therapy from a clinician with an understanding of infertility, loss, mental load, child development, and other life transitions. Kate is trained in perinatal mental health, Somatic Experiencing, and is a Level I trained Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist. Kate also offers Parenting Coaching and runs groups for new moms and for the parents of young children. Previously, Kate worked at The Bridge Project, a guaranteed income program for pregnant and new mothers living in poverty in New York City, and at GABI at Montefiore Hospital, an attachment-based intervention to preserve families and prevent child maltreatment. Prior to NYU, Kate spent nearly two decades working in the American theatre, and holds an MFA from Carnegie Mellon University.
